Well I know a lot of different people think differently about KO's.

Personally I have really grown to love them.

I live in China so I am constantly surrounded by them.

When I started to collect when I moved here, I was just getting G1 Reissues, and then I started to get some cheap Chinese brand KOs like the combiners and Shockwave. For the price they are here its totally worth it even if they are much lower quality.

But sometimes a cheap KO will really surprise you, sometimes (rarely, but sometimes) they are actually better then the original legit ones. SOme examples of this would be:
- Meantime KO that actually tells time unlike the real one

- Megatron Classics KO with lights and sound, when the real one has neither
- PAIRs of NIKE SPORT LABEL, right and left shoes

ALso oversized and mini KOs are really cool too, overall I love all KOs now and they are a big part of my collection, I just need more cabinets to display them all

I will always add pics of KOs here. I will start this week with the ones I currently have, a lot of my photos are of in package, but I have almost all of them opened. I just take in package pics for my sales thread/future store.

I will start with animated KO's since animated is probably the most popular now, .. Since the legit aniamted toys are readily available and not tooo expensive the KOs wont be very popular outside of China I still think they are awesome and I make sure I pick up everyone I see (I really like the animated toys).

Ok here goes,
some of my Haul pics from weekend shopping

ANIMATED KO's

This is the newest set I picked up, grabbed them last weekend. They are the exact same size as the regular deluxe class figures... pretty good for a Chinese brand KO.

I'll start with a comparison shot of the real prowl vs the KO

even the throwing stars open up - nice job

Voyager Class OP KOs compared to original - one with white is the first release, kind of loose, one with grey is second release - its pretty good

Other OPs

Comparison of oversized Deluxe OP with legit

Comparison of oversized Bee with legit bee

I call this guy bumble berry

RATCHET OVERSIZE

SEEKERS

BULKHEAD

CLASSICS GRIMLOCK OVERSIZED

G1 Chinese Brand KOs
SIxShot - nice KO

MINI SKYLYNX

Oversized INSECTICONS

DOUBLE DEALERS - 2 , one with pink wings, one with original purple wings

OVERSIZED BEE AND BRAWN

ALTERNATOR and BINALTECH KOs.
The BT Metal conversions are pretty kick ass quality, the alts, well they are ok.. for the price I cant go wrong

Here are some oversized ones that just recently hit the market here - the fit GI JOES!!

We call this one BumbleJack

these are cheaper versions

STARSABER AND VICTORY LEO

MINIS

STAR GARRY LARGE AND MINI

COMBINERS
these constructicons have slightly simplified devastator parts such as the arms and hand being one piece but they do come with the small guns for the individual bots, unlike the Chinese KO boxset
and they have them in 3 colors

Oversize Defensor - i forget what series

Some MEGATRON KO's

PAIRS OF SHOES! RIGHT AND LEFT

BEAST WARS KOs in ANN Boxes with VCDs

ARCEE WITH LIGHT UP CHEST

MOVIE ARCEE

If that wasnt enough, theres more to come

The KOs collection of bro Genzhao is astounding.

some of them actually look great.

Personally, i dun go for them as most of those sold here are too pricey and come with very poor workmanship.

Bying KOs constantly also add up in term of dollars...

You will be better off buying the originals (im refering to current toys and not G1s of course)

Again, this is my personal opinion.

Bro Genzhao could have access to better quality and reasonably priced KOs

To truly call yourself a collector, you have to have and be willing to display G1 Wheelie. This will let people know you are serious about your collection.

Ok guys my take on KO I have brought a few KO item for a fraction of the original item but still expensive enought to burn a small hole in the pocket..

So far I have regretted every single one of them. Always they have loose joints or the head mould is way wrong but i dun mind buying unofficial upgrade package normally these are quite good but if there a original transformer i suggest go for it dun be like me and regret later no offend bro genzhao.

I don't mind collecting some KOs as mentioned by genzhao, some of these KOs are better than the original ones.

I bought the oversized Blitzwing found in the night market due to size matter. Original Blitzwing looks so small and pathetic beside Megatron.

Mostly I bought (and still looking) for combiners for display (and cheap) purposes. I had the originals display in loose robots and the KO combined display in their combined form. Looks cool plus no loose guns and accessories to worry about. Like all KOs, one time transformation and display is enough.

KOs also got quality ones... I remember my KO Computron and Superion that I got in the early 90s, quality definitely equal to the original ones (except Silverbot color is green instead of white) .

The "vintage" Bootleg version of Liokaiser is a personal fav of mine. Very close to the original sans for differences in the stickers used and certain parts of the boxart.

Some KOs are really unique in terms of color and sizes, something which we cant get for authentic toys, and if we are into redeco, why not? Of cause, quality is another issue, but if we get good quality KOs, thats a bonus i guess

Yep, especially for certain coveted G1 characters like the Dinobots and Wheeljack, since the molds for these have been damaged and they are unlikely to be reissued. I have seen the Dinobot KOs and they're very well made and do fetch a hefty price nowadays.

A member here emailed me about my Oversized Classics Grimlocks so I thought I'd come on here and post some of my collection pics.

Classics Jetfire Multi-Colour

Yao Ming and a Soccer Dude

and many more...

I've really gotten into these things, they're creative, exotic, unique, and sometimes hilarious. the quality is soso, but that's ok for their purpose.

They can't replace the originals, if there was a ko classics hound, I'd still need to have the original classics hound.

there's also a blue one of the red one, a yellow one of the green one, and multi multi-coloured versions of the multi-coloured one

I'm visiting south china now. They should be in sg soon, they've been here for at least a month or so.
